The building was originally called The Ranfurly Hotel and was opened in June 1882.
The hotel had changed hands a number of times over the years, first in 1896 and then again in the early 1900's.
During the First world war it was used hostel and also as an auxiliary hospital.
In 1920 the new owners renovated it
and it was opened as The Ranfurly School, which operated for about 5 Years. After lying derelict for a number of years the building was converted for
use as retail outlets and housing, as it still
is to this day.
In November 2004 we decided it was time that Bridge of Weir
had a high
quality and prestige salon to, not only enjoy and relax in, but be
proud of. Therefore, Castle Terrace was restored once more.
Castle Terrace is one of the most impressive buildings in the Renfrewshire area and we at Tranquil Hair Design are delighted to have such a beautiful salon in such a
peaceful and tranquil setting within Bridge of Weir.
